April 8 (Bloomberg) — Citigroup Inc. offered to compensate more than 2,700 investors who bought Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. structured notes distributed in Spain, buying them back for 55 percent of their nominal value in cash.
Under an agreement reached with the Spanish consumer protection association ADICAE and law firms Zunzunegui and Jausas, the bank will offer compensation to investors with 78 million euros ($104 million) invested in the Lehman products without admitting any legal liability, Citigroup s Spanish unit said in a statement today.
Lehman filed for the biggest bankruptcy in U.S. history in September 2008, also hurting investors in Spain who had bought products linked to the failed investment bank. The investors will have until May 7 to accept its offer, said Citigroup, which distributed the Lehman notes in Spain.
Barcelona-based Jausas sent a copy of a news release from Citigroup, ADICAE, Zunzunegui and Jausas by e-mail today. A spokesman for Citigroup in Madrid confirmed the statement in a phone interview.

8 de abril (Bloomberg)- Citigroup Inc. ofreció recompensa del 55% de su valor nominal en efectivo a más de 2,700 inversionistas quienes compraron Lehman Brothers Holdings, Inc. según notas estructuradas que fueron distribuidas en España.
Esto fue bajo un acuerdo con la Asociacion de Protección del Consumidor español (ADICAE) y los bufetes Zunzunegui y Jausas. El banco ofrecerá la compensación a los inversionistas con un valor de 78 millones de euros ($104 millones) los cuales estaban en inversiones en productos Lehman y sin ningún pasivo legal. Esto es según una declaración por una unidad de Citigroup en España.
En Septiembre/ 2008, Lehman se declaró en bancarrota, la cual fue la bancarrota mas grande en EEUU en toda la historia estadounidense. Esto daño a inversionistas, quienes compraron productos con enlace a un banco de inversiones que ya había fracasado. Los inversionistas tendrán hasta el 7 de Mayo para aceptar la oferta, según Citigroup quien distribuyo notas de Lehman en España.
El día de hoy, Jausas con sede en Barcelona mando una copia de esto que salió en las noticias de Citigroup a ADICAE, Zunzunegui y Jausas por email. Un portavoz de Citibank en Madrid confirmo esta declaración por medio de una llamada telefónica.
